Stalking is a pattern of fixated and obsessive behaviour which is repeated, persistent, intrusive and causes fear of violence or engenders alarm and distress in the victim (Suzy Lamplugh Trust)
This could be;
- sending you unwanted gifts
- calling you all the time
- following you
- damaging your things.
Stalking can happen in real life, online or a combination of both. It's never okay and shouldn't happen. Remember, you're not alone and there is help available.
It's important to understand that stalking isn't just about threats of violence. Even if someone doesn't directly threaten you, if they keep contacting you in unwanted ways that make you feel uncomfortable and upset, that's still stalking. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, and you should never have to put up with it.
